Learn more about our benefits. n n As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations– and you’ll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.n n nAbout the Role: nWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong foundation in precision machining and design for manufacturability. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on shop floor experience in high-tech manufacturing environments and a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, including GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis. nnKey Responsibilities: nnn Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to product release. nnnn Develop designs optimized for manufacturability and cost efficiency. nnnn Apply advanced GD&T principles and perform tolerance stack analyses. nnnn Collaborate closely with vendors and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and cost effectiveness. nnnn Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools. nnnn Support prototype development and testing, incorporating feedback into design iterations. nnnn Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team meetings. nnnn Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with engineering standards. nnnRequired Qualifications & Experience: nnn Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. nnnn Minimum 5 years of combined practical and theoretical experience in mechanical design and manufacturing. nnnn Strong expertise in precision machining and familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing processes including:  nnnn Turning, milling, welding, electro-erosion, polishing, etc. nnnn Proven experience in design for manufacturability and cost optimization. nnnn Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up. nnnn Hands-on experience in high-tech manufacturing environments, preferably involving precision mechanics and diverse materials. nnnn Demonstrated success in vendor collaboration and project completion to product release. nnnn Fluent in English, with good proficiency in German. nnnnPreferred Skills: nnn Experience with PLM systems and engineering change processes. nnnn Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems. nnnn Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. nnnSounds interesting?
